About

Hello and Welcome!

I'm Wayne Vaughn and I'd love to be your favorite plumber.

Why Plumbing?

I made the decision to pursue plumbing full-time in 2008, after the collapse of the mortgage industry. I was looking for a more stable, reliable career—something less volatile. One of the plumbers who trained me had a loyal group of customers who only wanted to work with him. I admired the genuine relationships he built and how personally invested he was in helping people. Watching those interactions made a lasting impression on me. I realized then that I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives too—and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone smile because you were able to help them.

How DWV Started:

I started DWV Plumbing in February 2025. I began subcontracting in June 2020 after the company I had worked with for nearly 15 years was sold to a large corporation. The new ownership implemented a flat-rate pricing system and moved all plumbers to 100% commission. This shift led to significantly higher prices and, in my view, encouraged a sales-driven approach rather than a service-focused one. I believe this model often prioritizes replacements over repairs, which isn’t always in the customer’s best interest. That experience motivated me to start my own business—one built on honest service, fair pricing, and doing what’s truly best for the customer.

How it All Began:
I began my plumbing career about 20 years ago. Over time, I worked my way up through nearly every part of the business. At my last company, I eventually became Operations Manager, but I started as an apprentice. From there, I moved into the warehouse as a purchasing agent, then became warehouse manager and fleet manager. When the company invested in a sewer inspection camera, I became the primary operator and gained extensive knowledge in identifying and locating sewer line issues.
Later, I was asked to cross-train in the front office to provide backup support. After learning the Sage Master Builder software used for reception and dispatch, I developed training manuals for both roles—something the company had never done in its 60-year history. Ironically, the day after I finished the manuals, both the receptionist and dispatcher quit due to unrelated issues with ownership. I stepped in immediately, managing both positions alongside my existing responsibilities.
Eventually, I was named Front Office Manager, and my role expanded to include managing cell phones, office phones, internet, the website, and social media. I was also trained in back-office operations, including data entry and reconciling daily invoices. At that point, I was promoted to Operations Manager. I’m grateful for these experiences—they gave me a deep understanding of how a business operates from the ground up.
Why choose DWV?
I like building personal relationships with my customers, because your house is the biggest purchase you will make. I want to make sure we keep your plumbing working properly. I look at your plumbing system as the circulatory system and digestive system of your house. Your water service and lines are like the circulatory system, always under pressure, and can cause major problems if it leaks. Your sewer system is like your digestive system, it needs to flow properly so it doesn’t back up. Sewage is very destructive to your property if it floods your house. As a plumber, I keep your home healthy.
  • I will always stand behind my work 100%.
  • I will never sell you something you don’t need.
  • If it’s not broken and still works properly, I will never suggest you to replace it.
  • Good plumbing isn’t cheap, and cheap plumbing isn’t good! I proud to be on the lower end of the pricing scale, as I work for myself and my overhead is not near as much as large companies.
